Evita cast shines at PPAC

“Caroline Bowman currently stars in the role of Eva Perón (made famous on stage by LuPone in 1980 and on screen by Madonna in 1996) in Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s “Evita,” which opened Sunday at the Providence Performing Arts Center. With a voice that carries to the back row of the theater and a commanding stage presence, Bowman makes a vocally and physically demanding role seem effortless.”

“Bowman never misses a beat, a dance step or a note, and she never stops moving, either. With multiple costume, shoe and wig changes (her hair grows from a dark brown to Eva’s signature bleach blond gradually throughout the first act), she barely leaves the stage.”
